1st Birthday
For Tino's first birthday we took him out to a Turkish restaurant in West End which WE enjoyed very much! Tino enjoyed it too, but he only got to try a little bit of the food. He thought Turkish bread was a good thing.
His aunty Linda came up all the way from Melbourne especially for his birthday and she took him to experience the coffee scene. He even got to try his first 'Soy Babychino'!

I don't like the sand dad..

Over the Easter break we went down to Byron for a couple of days and thought we'd give Tino he's first beach experience. It sounds strange that it has taken us this long to introduce him to the beach, but this summer we have been more preoccupied with wake boarding in the river, which Tino loves (the boat ride that is!).

Well we were both rather dissapointed with his response. We thought he'd definitely be a beach baby and we'd have to hold him back from eating the sand! However, to the contrary he absolutely hated the sand and cried whenever we tried to put him down and let his feet touch the sand. Oh well, maybe he will like it more next summer when he is a bit older!

Walking :-)

Well, it certainly didn't take long. About a week after Tino learnt how to push himself into a standing position he was off and running!
Now that he has so much more independence he is loving it. He is the happiest little boy!

Grease Monkey

Whenever Frosty is working in the garage or on his bike Tino ALWAYS has to be part of the action. I think his philosophy is 'the more grease I can find the better'!
Channel Surfing

One of Tino's favourite past times apart from playing with hose taps is grabbing the TV remote and changing channels......he does it like a pro (but more often than not finds the 'snow' channel!)
Generally Tino is a fantastic eater and gets very little food around his face. But this day his veges were a little over mashed and he ended up with a face full, right up to his eye brow. Thought it was worth a shot!
5th Anniversary
Here is a piccy of Frosty and I before we went out for dinner for our 5th wedding anniversary.
We very kindly had Tino babysat by Frosty's olds for the evening while we went out to a fancy restaurant. (Our 2nd night out alone without Tino!!)
We thought we'd struck a winner with the restaurant that I'd chosen, service was great, food was great........well that's what we thought until I woke up with tummy cramps and nausea that lasted 2 days (I chose the meat option and you could see "I told you so" written all over Frosty's face the next day!!) And don't anyone get any ideas with the tummy cramps and nausea .......it certainly won't be happening again for a while yet!!

Daddy is a leap frog!
I didn't mention it, but while we were in Perth Tino took his first 3 steps on his own. Since then he has been taking a couple of steps every few days as he lets go of the furniture that he is holding onto.
But, today Frosty taught him how to stand up on his own without using the furniture as a support. Frosty was jumping around the back yard like a leap frog amusing Tino, and he obviously thought he would like to give it a go too. Much to his astonishment he realised that it was the way to stand up on his own. Standing there with a smug look of satisfaction on his face he also proceeded to take some steps......well there will be no stopping him now!!

Tick Toc Opa
One of the main reasons for going to Perth was to see my Opa whom I haven't seen for years and to introduce him to Tino. My Opa is called Uhr Opa (great grandfather) to Tino, which means 'clock' Opa, so dad nick named hime Tick Toc Opa instead!!
Tino was pretty impressed with all the cuddles and attention he got at Opa's not to mention that there was so many new and interesting things to explore and play with, like more hose taps, a well in the backyard and big valves too!!
The only thing is I had to keep a diligent eye on him the whole time because Opa had layed rat poisen around the house and when dad vacuumed it up before I came he got very cranky and put more out!!
Tino's Perth / German Adventure
Well I did it! I managed to take Tino by myself on a 5 hr flight to Perth to see all the German relatives for a whirlwind 4 day holiday.
What an angel. To my surprise Tino loved the flight, he made friends with the people beside us, the ones in front and the ones behind. He even had the pilot come and make a visit!
We stayed in a Tuscan type villa in Fremantle which we shared with my sister Melanie and her man Joel for 2 nights and then had it to ourself for the other 2 nights.
There was also a lovely courtyard attached to the house which Tino made good use of and managed to find every single hose tap to play with providing hours of amusement (definitely a plumbers son!!)

Photos of Tino

I have been playing with Photoshop and put together a few photos of Tino that I have taken with my new digital camera (which I love)!
Tino's 1st Motorbike Race
The other week I took Tino for a trip out to see Frosty at the motorbike races. Well what can I say, he's a boy after his father's heart. Did Tino like it? You bet ya!!
My sister Melanie took him for a walk around the whole track, and had him waving to all the contestants. After that he sat on top of Frosty's bike for about 20 min making motorbike noises. We had to peel him off the seat!
Life in Brisbane.....
OK here I go with my first proper post....
Frosty (Mike), Tino and I are currently living in Sinnamon Park, Brisbane. Although, not for long as we have got our current house for sale, and are hoping that someone will come along and buy it soon!!
The house has kept us busy with designing and creating all the landscaping and finishing touches. But now we are finished and ready to move onto the next project!! I think we are being labeled 'Serial Builders'!!
