Mel's Birthday
At the end of April Frosty traveled up to Hamilton Island to finish the job he had been working on. All up he was away for over 4 weeks. Fortunately my sister Mel and her man Joel came up to Mullum from Sydney for a few days during that time so I went down and visited them which helped to break up the long absence from Frosty.
While Mel and Joel were in Mullum Melanie had her birthday so we went out to dinner in Byron and had a lovely meal at the Balcony restaurant.
One afternoon we went down to the beach and had a nice time kicking the ball and enjoying the view. That afternoon it was a bit too chilly to go for a swim, but Mel took a dip one day and apparently it was warmer in the water than out. (I took her word for it!)

Baby Oliva
Also in the month of April our good friends Adam and Julie Pokorny had their beautiful baby girl Oliva Jade. She is so teeny tiny and just adorable.

Tino's 2nd Birthday
Tino also had his 2nd birthday in April, which was a low key event on the day, however he kept getting presents every day and visits from family for the whole week, so I think his expectations will be rather high next birthday!!
As you can see we didn't have a big hoo ha birthday, with his birthday cake even being low key (that's a look of memorisation by the candles - not disappointment at his waffle and banana candled birthday cake!) Actually we decided to give him a healthy version of a birthday cake because he had a cold and we didn't want to feed it with loads of sugar - I don't think he was disappointed, besides he doesn't know any better :-)
He was pretty happy with his loads of presents this year!

The same weekend we went to Noosa to see my cousin Malita we also got to catch up with my grandparents Lindsay and Shirley. It's great to see grandparents enjoying the park as much as a toddler!!

Baby Jack
Last week mum, Tino and I drove up to Noosa, spent the night with my grandparents and then visited my cousin Malita and her little boy Jack the next day. Jack is such a happy little boy, I didn't here him cry once. I think he enjoyed having Tino there for the day to watch running around, and Tino certainly enjoyed playing with Jack's toys!

1st Motorbike Ride
Here is a photo of Tino having his first motorbike ride. Up until now the noise has been a bit much for him, but this time he wanted to have a ride. He had a very serious face the whole time but loved it and didn't really want to get off.
Here he is trying on my old helmet.
Nana's 80th
It was my grandmother's 80th birthday at the beginning of January. My grandfather turned 80 last year, they are both so healthy and fit, and we're all very proud of them.
We had a little get together at my cousin Sarah's house and my uncle David, and cousins Cerease and Lindsay came especially from Melbourne for the event. It was a great day with great food and great company.
Christmas 06
We had a lovely Xmas with a very long awaited 4 weeks off. Frosty managed to build his motorcross track at his parents place despite the summer storms that seemed to keep rolling in each evening and drenching the ground and making it pretty soggy and slippy and hard going for the machines.
We spent about four days in Bundaberg with Frosty's family at his sisters place, enjoying their pool and five acres. Tino loved playing with his big cousins too.

Scenic Tour
The first weekend Marcel was in Australia we took him for a drive to see some of the natural sites around the Gold Coast. Firstly we took him to the Gold Coast hinterland to see the Natural Arch.

After that we drove south over the border of NSW and QLD, through Murwillumbah and then stopped and had lunch at Kingscliff. Marcel loves the beach so we took him for a walk along the Kingscliff beach to enjoy the white sand and beautiful blue water.
